This is a reclaimed piece of coastal redwood. It was inspired by the nature of fire to transform. In the wake of the many wildfires near my home in California it serves as reminder that fire is not enemy and it remains an ally by providing warmth and light during the cold and dark. There is a platform at its base meant to hold offerings such as a candle, flowers or prayers It was burned with a torch and blackened. This piece stands at 53” x 20” x 10”
